Additional information

This paper is produced as a first output of a successful ongoing collaboration with the University of Oviedo in Spain. The work carried out in this research tackled the delamination problem using two solvers, implicit and explicit, considering two different fracture mechanics models, which makes it a unique in this field. The successful project results opened the door for more extensive collaboration in research project. Three more papers (2 journals and 1 conference) were written. It led also to strength the relationship between the University of Sunderland and University of Oviedo. Several projects and funding opportunities are under consideration at the moment.
