Additional information

This is one of several outputs concerning vehicle crashworthiness optimization using smart front-end structures. The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) supported and awarded this research activity. The novelty of this work is that it combines the smart front-end structure alongside vehicle dynamics control systems as a unique solution for safer vehicles. This paper led to a new research direction for vehicle crashworthiness optimization. Based on this work, several travel grants are awarded to present research findings at national and international conferences. The research work resulted in 21 papers (9 journal papers and 12 conference papers).
