Additional information

The recognition of flow regime is an important step to overcome the measurement discontinuity as the flow velocity increases beyond a range in online flow metering and control. A method using only a fraction of the data by binary coding of the average zones in the tomogram of flow is presented, by applying Boolean logic and frequency spectrum analysis. It provides a simple, fast and efficient analysis with a high level of conformity for the on-line recognition of the flow regime. This method has been adopted in a developing of flow metering technology for Oil and Gas industry (http://www.slb.com/scr/).
