Additional information

This piece was the only legal analysis of the new statutory framework for the sharing of confidential patient information for research and other connected purposes explicitly cited in the Information Governance Review report, a study by the Department of Health in 2013. In influencing the thinking of the review panel in early 2013, the piece has gone on to have significant impact this Autumn in defining new patient information rights in the recently reformed NHS information sharing structures.
