The research output of this paper contributed to a Marie Curie Initial Training Network proposal, and has attracted great interest because it offers the possibility of inexpensive production of nano-substrates for biosensing applications. Joint collaboration with University of Strathclyde is continuing, with other papers already prepared and funding for a new PhD student at UWS has been obtained.
