Significance of output:

This paper was selected for a Focus on Fluids (FoF) article in the Journal of Fluid Mechanics (JFM). The FoF article, written by a prominent expert in the field, describes the work as "the first to credibly employ a Navier Stokes based analysis [...] to represent coherent motion dynamics on a mode-by-mode basis in the fully turbulent regime." It goes on to describe its fundamental importance to the better understanding of scale separation effects at high Reynolds number, low-dimensional representations of turbulence for more efficient computational schemes, and turbulence control.

Reports of the work also appeared in the popular press.
