Significance of output:

The modulation strategies presented in this paper resulting reduction in the amplitude of neutral point voltage oscillations by 30% to 50% in an NPC inverters operating as motor drives. The approach has the advantage of avoiding the significant increment in switching losses and output voltage harmonic distortion, caused by other methods. The work was carried out during a CASE PhD Studentship sponsored by TSL Technology Ltd. The PhD student now works at TSL as a KTP Associate to incorporate the algorithm into their inverter products.
