Additional information
This paper describes a novel widefield heterodyne interferometry technique. Heterodyne systems offer significant practical advantages over homodyne systems but have hitherto been limited to a single point interferometers or systems with a very limited number of pixels (normally two). In this paper a widefield system is presented operating at a high heterodyne frequency of 15MHz, while the prototype only has 32 by 32 pixels it is scalable to normal camera resolutions.
