This paper shows that a fuzzy, rather than crisp, set membership makes little difference to the comparison with human interpretation. This underlines the need to move to a non-parametric statistic base which is a fundamental change for the current review of IEEE Std 1597.1 (contact: Chairman of the Standards Working Group with responsibility for IEEE Std 1597.1).
