Additional information

This is the first time that 2-component measurements have been made for a pulsating pipe flow (except for a brief conference paper in 1990), providing experimental evidence on the different behaviours of the different turbulence components, and establishing the trends with which the mean and turbulent fields respond throughout the pipe section. Its impact is demonstrated by the fact that it is one of the top cited papers published in the Journal over the last five years (Journal’s official website, February-October 2013).
