Additional information

For this co-edited collection Braun wrote the Introduction (pp. 1-15) and contributed one chapter (pp. 78-96). Individual chapters were commissioned following a major conference on the topic organised by the editors. The five chapters in the theory section were completed first and circulated to the rest of the contributors, who were then encouraged to engage with the theoretical models thus provided in their own chapters. This strategic intellectual role conditioned how Braun’s own chapter was written. She wrote the introduction with the specific aim of teasing out the wider research implications cumulatively reached by this ongoing dialogue.
