Additional information

This work covers practice-based research outcomes pertinent to the water industry; the outcomes are useful for innovative urban water infrastructure development. The work was carried out using large pilot scale testing to reveal practical challenges and relevance of certain operational parameters in full scale application of MBR technology for sustainable water management. The outcomes have provided the water technology industry with deeper understanding of technology performance under critical conditions (S. Kuriyama, Kubota Corporation; skuriya@kubotalon.co.uk), and have contributed to knowledge dissemination as a result of the EC funded project EUROMBRA dedicated to developing wastewater technologies for 21st century (www.mbr-network.eu).
