Additional information

This paper presents a novel design and manufacturing method for highly sensitive low cost pressure transducers. It allows previously unsupported demanding, yet cost sensitive markets, such as personal health monitoring, to be addressed. As an indication of the significance of this work GE Sensing, Fir Tree Lane, Groby. tel. 01162317100) filed a US patent to protect the technology, see US7487641B1 (date of patent Feb. 10, 2009), where the author is a named inventor.
