Additional information

For the 8th edition of Goff & Jones the authors undertook a major overhaul of the text. The existing material was reordered and rationalised, and approximately 300,000 words of new text (out of around 450,000 words in total) were completely rewritten. Professor Charles Mitchell devised the scheme of the new edition, substantially revised or wrote 30 of the 40 chapters, and edited Paul Mitchell’s and Stephen Watterson’s 10 chapters. About one third of the new edition is previous text written by Robert Goff and Gareth Jones, one third is new text written by Charles Mitchell, and one third is new text written by Paul Mitchell and Stephen Watterson.
