A ZigBee-based home automation system
<06> This work was funded by TSB (TP/J3521A, £150k) in collaboration with three local industrial partners. The prototype of the developed system was exhibited in Ecobuild 2011in ExCel, London. One patent (No:0921008.9) has been filed in 2010. The work also won the 2010 Institute of Measurement and Control (www.InstMC.org.uk) Honeywell Prize. A paper in IEEE Transaction on Industrial Informatics (7(4), 2011, p.732) recognised that our approach allows “more advanced and user-friendly device management”. A paper in Inter. J. of Dig Muiltimedia Broadcasting (2011, ID926363, p.3) said our result “is significant energy saving and greater comfort for building occupants”.
