Additional information

* The first paper ever to consider viability of parallel connection for realising independently-controlled multi-motor multiphase drive systems with a single multiphase inverter supply.

* Significant since (i) it shows why parallel connection is an inferior solution, compared to the series connection, and (ii) it establishes a very advanced example of analogy between series and parallel connection in electrical engineering.

* Initiated studies that have led to the work on the integrated on-board battery charging for EVs employing multiphase machines and converters, within the scope of the current EPSRC-VESI project (EP/I038543/1).
