Additional information

The book is submitted in its entirety, as commissioned, edited, and (extensively) introduced by Dr Hopps, who also contributed a chapter. The submission is not simply for Dr Hopps' chapter, but for his work in assembling, editing, and introducing an interdisciplinary collection of essays which together focus attention on a hitherto unexamined area of Byron's work - the spiritual, the spectral and the supernatural - as a way of challenging the materialist bias in Romantic studies and nihilistic readings of Byron's verse.
