This output consists of: Silverman’s own article, the ‘Editors’ Note’ and his research contribution to the volume. This volume is the result of collaboration between the three co-editors to redefine the field of cultural memory studies of the Holocaust and colonialism. It was the product of their previous individual work in this area and their desire to extend the analysis of post-war literature and film to highlight the inter-connections rather than distinctions between memories of extreme violence. Invited authors were asked to think about cultural memory in this transversal way rather than through more restricted and compartmentalised frames.
