Additional information

A unique feature of the methodology proposed is that it can be used to evaluate the efficiency of data visualisation techniques without the need for extensive comparisons with other methods. The paper contributes a metric that shows whether or not increasing set size in a data array can or cannot speed up perception of data outliers. It appears in a special issue of the only international journal on Gestalt Theory, an interdisciplinary journal that brings together theoreticians, artists and practitioners.
