Double-weighted statement

9/11 & the Literature of Terror took four years to research and write (2007-2011). As it was one of the first book-length studies of the representation of the terrorist attacks there was a vast amount of fiction and non-fiction to be read alongside films, poetry, drama and political/cultural analysis. Throughout the course of the reading and writing process the literature surrounding the attacks was in a period of formidable growth and thus the research process was more protracted that it otherwise might have been, in order to remain at the forefront of critical developments.
