Additional information

Beating the Odds was commissioned by Arts Council England and Iniva: first, to explore reasons why young people from BME backgrounds opted for non arts subjects at key decision-making moments in their secondary education; and, second, to develop a programme of action designed to encourage them to select arts programmes at GCSE, A level and HE level. Mark Dunford and Tricia Jenkins worked together as joint project leaders. The report was published by Arts Council England where it influenced national policy and was used to inform practice across participating HEIs.
