Additional information

This internationally collaborative joint project with Tsinghua University was sponsored by the RAEng and both UK and China universities. It produced a process to fabricate layered nanocomposite massively more efficient (20 minutes rather than days) than the current state of the art and the results have inspired/been used by, leading nanomaterials research groups from around the world. The work has been built upon in a KTP grant (KTP07682) with Hunting Energy Services Ltd (UK) developing a nanocomposite coating for offshore pipelines which has enabled the company to develop new products for more challenging operation environment (Andrew.leech@hunting-intl.co.uk).
