Prestigious, world leading design and deployment of unique robot within the Great Pyramid, Egypt, published in leading applied robotics journal. Richardson developed the concept, led the design/construction team, piloted the robot. Discovered writing hidden for 4500 years and discovered mysterious copper pins were decorative, answering questions that had troubled archaeologists for decades. Featured in New Scientist Magazine (May 2011) and ranked in top 10 stories 2011 (http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn21309-2011-review-the-year-in-life-science.html). News articles in every continent. Resulted in funding to solve new problems [Scoutek ltd (Phd funding £45K)(creationeer@btinternet.com)]. Work featured prominently in successful EPSRC National Robotics Facility £4.3M (including industry)[Richardson PI].
