Significance of output:
The simulation software described in this paper has been supplied to the private sector defence company Cunning Running Ltd. Their product is used by police to identify locations from which terrorists could launch missiles at important infrastructure (e.g. airports, Olympic stadia). An open source version of the software has over 1600 downloads. It was used in a recent attempt on the UK amateur rocket altitude record, which was filmed by the BBC. It is employed by several universities and colleges in teaching and research.
