"Das deutsche Weltblatt" DIE ZEIT und die Außenpolitik der Bundesrepublik Deutschland
The edited volume provides new and important insights into the role of the weekly DIE ZEIT (originally founded under British supervision in 1946 and at one time seen as a nationalist newspaper) in the dynamic transformation of West Germany between 1950 and the 1970s. The volume analyses the multiple political, social and cultural influences that contributed to changing position of the paper, attracting contributions from the highest echelons of the Western establishment (Helmut Schmidt, Ralf Dahrendorf, Willy Brandt etc.) and finally setting the pace for new ideas on détente and on social and political reform.
