Additional information

This paper developed an original platform for a semi-automatic method (where a clinician initially trains the software that later on automatically performs the tasks) able to identify the organs and the possible pathology within an MRI dataset. It also allows for delineating any tumour areas that can also be represented in 3D and allow for further image processing. This was a clinically driven research within an EU project, supported in part by the EC ICT project ContraCancrum (Contract No: 223979) and the EC ICT project TUMOR (No: 247754). The software developed is still in use by clinicians today.
