Additional information

This work, particularly relevant to the aerospace industry, is involved with assessing the adsorption properties of organic materials on conversion coatings within the context of replacement of current pretreatments with environmentally friendly ones. It provides insights to, and a novel interpretation of, complex adsorption phenomena where competitive adsorption is involved, with the elegant use of high mass resolution ToF-SIMS analysis. Such coatings, as well as their interaction with subsequent coatings, are very important within the production process as they provide corrosion protection and therefore flexibility for materials production when storage is necessary prior to flight.
