Additional information

The electrical characteristics from quantum confined systems is unified in a description that links quantum confinement and electron supply statistics in a self-consistent manner to explain features in measured electrical characteristics (steps and plateaus). The formulisation can be applied to any metallic nanoparticles, thin metallic films, quantum wires and dots given appropriate material parameters. This work has led to invited talks at the ICMAT (Singapore).
