Additional information

CNTs show great promise as good, bright field emitters of electrons. Improved understanding of the emission physics should eventually lead to more accurate and reliable modelling of CNT emission characteristics in the context of commercial applications, for example electron microscope electron sources. The collaboration brought together three different types of theoretical expertise, including what is probably the best field emission research group in China, to create a more rounded approach to discussion of theory. The work was presented as an invited talk at IVNC 2012 in Korea.
