Additional information

The communication describes the first room temperature organic paramagnetic metal. A small number of molecular materials already existed with these properties but contain metal atom centres. Previous to this work, no purely organic material showed these properties. This has wide ranging implications for using the flexibility of organic synthesis to design magnetic and conducting materials.
