Additional information

This article evaluates for the first time the possibility to produce electrodes for detectors applications using the pulsed laser ablation deposition technique. This is of particular interest for pure graphite and carbon/metal mixed electrodes on diamond based X-ray detectors, which are aimed at medical dosimetry and synchrotron applications, where any high Z material presence in the beams should be minimised. The study shows that the electrode composition clearly affects the signal amplitude and the signal to noise ratio of the fabricated devices.
