Additional information

This paper examines the low Earth orbit (LEO) control system requirements and design of a microsatellite using a combination of gravity-gradient boom and momentum and reaction wheel control in the context of a real system, which enabled Surrey Satellite Technology Limited (SSTL) to develop and launch a series of advanced Earth observation microsatellites that formed the international Disaster Monitoring Constellation (DMC) also providing commercial imaging services.
