The paper provides a methodology for optimising concentrating photovoltaic system and it was verified experimentally for low concentrating photovoltaic system. Newly developed algorithm is also applicable to any CPV devices to optimise its current generation. The outcome of the paper secured further research in the area with a major funding from EPSRC (EP/K022156/1) where utilization of un-wanted heat can be regenerated into electricity. The method is also currently being used in internationally collaborative BioCPV project (http://biocpv.ex.ac.uk/index.html).
