Additional information

Contributed a novel dissolution-precipitation approach to formulate suitable composite powders for selective laser sintering of high performance products due to excellent uniform dispersion of fibre and its interfacial adhesion with polymer. Industrial firms such as BMW expressed great interest in the commercial exploitation of this new technology. Resulted in a Royal Academy of Engineering research exchange award with China to exploit this new material approach for formulating bioactive nano-composites and carry on a UK-China collaborative research project. The findings have been adopted by Wuhan Binhu Ltd (Wu Chen, wu.chen@binhurp.com) to enhance their SLS capability in making high performance products and develop the large-scale SLS equipment.
