Recovery of absolute gas absorption line shapes using tuneable diode laser spectroscopy with wavelength modulation- part 1 : theoretical analysis
This paper reports a rigorous new mathematical model of tuneable diode laser spectroscopy with wavelength modulation (TDLS-WM). The model, combined with its new experimental techniques and validation (described in- DOI:10.1109/JLT.2011.2107729), for the first time, extends the community’s capability to accurately analyse and remove distortion effects from TDLS-WM signals over an extensive range of system parameters, giving the system designer enormously increased scope to optimise sensitivity and accuracy . The outcomes reported underpin the TDLS measurements in the £1.8M EPSRC FLITES project to measure emissions from aero engines involving four Universities, Rolls-Royce and Shell [Strathclyde FLITES grant EP/J002178/1, £518k, 2012-16].
