Additional information

Piezoelectric transducer design processes often result in a theoretical optimality that may be unattainable due to a lack of appropriate materials. This paper presents a new methodology for facile materials synthesis to fabricate an array of passive materials, typically utilised in piezoelectric device manufacture. The paper formed part of an invited presentation at US Office of Naval Research Penn State Transducer Materials Workshop (2009) generating wide interest from the transducer community and forms a key aspect of EPSRC funded project (2011-14) to develop new wideband transduction methods for non-destructive evaluation of highly attenuative materials [EP/I019731/1, £264k].
