Additional information

In this research, channel modelling using Uniform Circular Array (UCA) antenna topologies is investigated. Currently, standard channel modelling techniques do not take account of elevation. To do this, a Von Mises Fisher probably density function was adopted and validated with the use of Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) experimental data from an outdoor drive test campaign. This research was supported by an industry funded EPSRC Industrial CASE studentship [Steepest Ascent Ltd (acquired by MathWorks, 2013), 2007-2010] and elements of the models are now incorporated into the company’s commercial MIMO channel modelling software simulator [Senior Engineer, faisal.darbari@steepestascent.com].
