Recovery of absolute gas absorption line shapes using tunable diode laser spectroscopy with wavelength modulation - Part 2 : experimental investigation
This paper reports a rigorous experimental validation of a new mathematical model of tuneable diode laser spectroscopy with wavelength modulation (TDLS-WM). The model (described in paper DoI: 10.1109/JLT.2011.2107312) combined with these experimental methods, provides the first technique to accurately analyse and remove distortion effects from TDLS-WM signals over an extensive range of system parameters (previously very limited), essential for industrial applications needing high sensitivities and accuracy. The outcomes reported contributed to winning the £1.8M EPSRC FLITES grant to measure emissions from aero engines involving Rolls-Royce, Shell and four Universities [Strathclyde FLITES grant reference: EP/J002178/1, 2012-16, £518k].
