'Rationality Through Reasoning' is 130,000 words long. It grew from the author’s three Blackwell–Brown Lectures given in 2003. From 2005-2008 the author held a Leverhulme Major Research Fellowship to work on the book. Most of his research time since then, including two terms of sabbatical leave, has been devoted to completing the book. It is pioneering work, requiring constant rethinking.
