Additional information

Predicting and optimising video quality for mobile video-streaming is key to service providers for customer retention. Video quality is affected by network impairments and/or video compression. The impact of these distortions varies depending on the content being viewed, and this aspect has received scant research attention so far. We present a novel, content-based QoE prediction model that was the first to predict video quality by bringing together video content-type, network QoS and video application parameters. Subjective tests have shown the model to be promising. The application of the model for video quality adaptation has also been demonstrated.
