Additional information

Paper arises from collaborative work between Chen and Sony Ericsson (YING) on antennas for satellite applications, which was later licensed to Satserv Ltd (J.Barrington-Brown@ssbv.com) for deployment on small UK commercial satellite - TechDemoSat-1. Work led to the first textbook by Chen and Parini on "Antennas for Global Navigation Satellite Systems" (Wiley, 2012), and a major award from the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information on developing a THz compact antenna test range (£650k, 2011-2014) jointly with Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (jsyu@bupt.edu.cn) and THz Technology (r.wylde@teraherts.co.uk). Chen also initiated/chaired EU-China workshop on Satellite and THz technologies (http://ucmmt2013.lancs.ac.uk/) since 2008.
