Dynamic modelling of CO2 absorption for post combustion capture in coal-fired power plants
This is the one of the pioneering papers in dynamic modelling and simulation of solvent-based post-combustion CO2 capture, and describes the first dynamic model of the absorber; previous studies have only considered steady state performance. It was developed from first principles and, importantly, it was validated with first-hand pilot plant data. This paper resulted from collaboration with RWE npower (Peter.Stephenson@RWEnpower.com), and played a key role in securing following-on funding from RCUK’s Energy Programme on whole systems modelling and analysis for CO2 capture, transport and storage (NE/H013865/1).
