Analysis of the results from use of haptic peg-in-hole task for assessment in neurorehabilitation
<20> This paper presents multidisciplinary work with Hunter's Moor Hospital. It shows the applicability of haptic tests to measure neurological impairment: this is likely to be of growing importance given the need to assess more objectively. As well as on-site motor control assessment, these techniques are also applicable in TeleCare. The research leading to this paper, the idea of having a haptic peg-in-hole, has been adapted by other research groups (i.e. Emery et al., ETH Zurich, Switzerland, Feys et al., Hasselt University, Belgium) and the concept has even crossed to haptic assembly (Lim et al., Heriot-Watt).
