Heidegger's Eschatology
Heidegger's Eschatology is a monograph of c. 90,000 words consisting entirely of previously unpublished research. Several of the chapters could each have furnished a stand-alone peer-reviewed journal article. The monograph relies primarily on primary foreign-language sources from the 1910's to 1930's, many of which have only recently been made available in libraries and archives in Germany (Literaturarchiv Marbach, Staatsbibliothek Berlin). The research, which was conducted over four years, has therefore required significant periods of study in Germany, including, most importantly, one externally funded (Wingate Foundation) summer research stay at the Staatsbibliothek Berlin.
