God and Necessity is a monograph of c. 250,000 words. Philosophical monographs tend be of 80,000 – 100,000; thus it is the size of 2–3 ordinary volumes. I did not revise previous work to include in it: the entire book is new research. However, I did also use portions of 6 chapters (out of 23) as separate articles. That 6 articles constitute much less than 20% of it indicate its relation to the amount of work needed for four “normal” outputs. Work on the book took 12 years, including two full-year sabbaticals: the majority of philosophical books take far less.
