Sub 200 fs pulse generation from a graphene mode-locked fiber laser
The research reported in this paper has generated media attention (http://nanotechweb.org/cws/article/tech/41949; http://optics.org/article/42012; http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v483/n7389_supp/full/483S38a.html) and contributed to a resulting review paper (http://www.nature.com/nphoton/journal/v4/n9/full/nphoton.2010.186.html). The presented work lead to collaborations with Prof Wilson Sibbett (University of St. Andrews, e-mail: ID_in_audit_file@st-andrews.ac.uk), Prof Ursula Keller (ETH Zurich, e-mail: ID_in_audit_file@phys.ethz.ch) and Prof Omer Ilday (Bilkent University, e-mail: ID_in_audit_file@bilkent.edu.tr) to continue the development of this technology. Dr Z. Sun, co-author of the paper, has now been appointed to a professorship position in Photonics at Aalto University, Finland.
