The novel modelling framework developed in this work led in part to research contracts [GBP269k total, from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Japan (ID_in_audit_file@mhi.co.jp) and Siemens, UK (ID_in_audit_file@siemens.com)], which enabled them to use the heat release rate model in their in-house calculations. Another outcome of this work is that these models have been incorporated into a commercial CFD package, FLUENT for in-house use at MHI (ID_in_audit_file@mhi.co.jp).
