Computational modelling for cerebral aneurysms: risk evaluation and interventional planning.
This paper, published in a premier clinical journal, presents an integrated computational suite of models capable of handling the entire healthcare management of cerebral aneurysms. This work addresses the two most important questions regarding this disease: first, evaluation of risk of growth and rupture for a detected aneurysm and, second, if intervention is decided, decision support for minimally invasive intervention planning and evaluation. The development of expertise associated with this paper led to the establishment of a long-term consulting contract with the Minimally Invasive New Technologies (MINT) Program, New York Presbyterian Hospital & Weill Cornell Medical College (Howard.Riina@nyumc.org; jfcornhill@addisonmedical.com; ann9036@nyp.org).
