Double-weighted statement

It deals with three areas of Sociology which had hitherto not been brought together: ageing, the body and sport. It's a research-based monograph which breaks new ground in sociological theorising and phenomenological research. It is innovative as it is one of the first monographs to deal with the sociology of ageing embodiment by interrogating the minutiae of bodily ageing. The empirical material is drawn from participant observations and life history interviews with 21 research participants and was subjective to comprehensive analysis.
