This work develops the use of representative volume elements RVE for a new application of high volume fraction discontinuous fibre architectures. The new RVE size is defined and verified and enables engineers to determine structural properties of these low-cost composite materials (Jaguar Land Rover, Roger Darlington: rdarling@jaguarlandrover.com).
